Free Bus Transportation Policy
 Free bus transportation to and from the museum will be available for field trips and group visits scheduled during the 2007–2008 academic school year. The museum has around 30 round trip bus transportation services available during that time period. Bus transportation services are available on a first come, first serve basis. Additional trips may be available depending on usage and number of remaining trips available, as determined by the museum. Bus service is provided by Crown Charters and Tours, an independent transportation provider.
To be eligible for free bus transportation, groups must consist of 20 or more individuals. Bus seating is limited to 33 people. Multiple buses may be available to accommodate larger groups. Bus service is limited to the metropolitan Washington area, including Washington DC, Montgomery County MD, Prince George’s County MD, Charles County MD, Arlington County VA, Fairfax County VA, Prince William County VA, Loudon County VA and all cities and towns within these counties.
Free bus transportation can be requested using the field trip reservation form or group visit reservation form. Once received, the request is confirmed by the staff at the museum and a confirmation e-mail is sent to the contact person.
All bus transportation requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the date of the visit. Field trip requests are contingent upon receipt of the completed Group Assignment Form to the museum at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled visit, or else the bus reservation will be cancelled.
Any cancellations of the bus transportation must be received by the museum at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled visit. Failure to cancel in a timely fashion will lead to restrictions on future requests.
The museum maintains a copy of Crown Charters and Tours certificate of insurance on file.

All drivers carry phones and radios, follow a strict dress code, get drug tested on a regular basis, and go through extensive training. Vehicles are cleaned daily, maintained to safety inspection requirements, and checked on a weekly basis (oil change, etc.). Crown Charters and Tours is on the list of approved bus companies for Montgomery County and PG County Schools.
